Tomorrow is all set, everything is in place, just come and bring a few supportive people. It will go quickly. Students come out at 10:30 and have a moment of silence. Leaders go to the press - ONE OHS specially selected reporter, who will be in with the parents/community on the safety path at the north entrance of the south parking lot. Parents are free to talk to him, or not. The student leader/s will come to you and be interviewed by the reporter and will read their statement. Then everyone goes back to class.
The statement will be streamed via Facebook live so the students can watch on their phones, if they want because they will not be anywhere near the press.
A page is being set up for parents and kids and community members who are not able to come to give support, especially due to the rain or if there are a lot of cars. We are telling them if there is a big crowd to just go home and watch in on Facebook live and send them a message of support. This also applies to those who may be too fearful to participate but would like to show their support. They are going to make sure they provide adequate law enforcement (soft presence, no flashing lights and no looking like a police raid), and the school is announcing the event and said they will make sure everyone gets food and feels supported.
The SRO and sheriff's department were in agreement that the needed safety aspects have been put in place and the kids will be in a safe and contained area.
